Wholesale Operations Manager
MORTGAGE WHOLESALE OPERATION MANAGER
Currently seeking a Wholesale Operations Manager (Alt A and Subprime) for the Sunrise, Florida location. This exceptional individual will have considerable influence in the operational maintenance of the following departments: processing, underwriting, and closing/funding. Within these departments, the successful candidate will be responsible for the recruiting, training, and constantly evaluating the staff to ensure the highest levels of diligence and customer satisfaction. The successful candidate will have over 7 years of managerial experience in a highly efficient loan production environment and will be ready to apply that knowledge into sustaining a first rate operational facility. A solid understanding of underwriting practices, secondary marketing, work flow management, employee development and employee evaluation is critical for success in this role.
Qualifications:
Minimum 7 years experience managing front-end lending operations
Bachelors Degree—preferably MBA or equivalent
Comprehensive understanding of processing, underwriting, quality control, and closing/ post closing and secondary marketing
Exceptional talent for leading, managing and evaluating staff and ability to develop a strong team attitude within the operation
Experience in setting up procedures and work flow
Strong understanding of the entire mortgage lending cycle times and the ability to identify opportunities for improving efficiency and quality
Highly motivated to provide excellent customer service to both external and internal clients
Ability to work in a high-volume, highly paced environment
Knowledge of compliance practices and regulatory requirements
Successful collaboration with cross-functional groups; sales, secondary, legal, technology, etc.
Excellent written and organizational skills as well as complete understanding of risk management
Strong working knowledge of Six Sigma—green belt certification or higher is preferred
Specific Requirements:
· Further develop monthly/yearly production, profitability and quality goals of branch.
· Quality goals consist of: clearing post-funding exceptions with 5 days of notification, delivering 97% of funded collateral packages within 6 business days. Maintaining a rate of 90% acceptable QC review for overall risk/underwriting/compliance.
· Manage the exception tracking and maintenance of all loan exceptions on loan sales to investors. Must possess ability to analyze errors on exception reports and QC reports to identify training, system and /or process issues to eliminate trends in production errors that result in un-saleable loans.
· Provide prompt, courteous service to all internal and external customers. Prioritize and address customer needs and demands in a professional manner, providing follow-up and developing cooperative relationships.
· Identify opportunities and recommend methods to improve customer service, work processes and financial performance. Assist in design an implementation of quality improvement initiatives on departmental and organizational levels.
· Assists team members in completion of tasks and assignments to ensure continuity of service. Orient new co-workers and actively support team development.
· Facilitate ongoing communication within operation for new technology, products and procedures to achieve production, profitability and quality goals.
