POSITION PURPOSE
These Associates are responsible for a wide range of tasked including, but not limited to: loading, unloading, sorting. Staging and transporting products, shipping, returns, and fabrication into and out of a Distribution Center, Branch location, or rental yard. Individuals in this position must work cooperatively with other Associates and productively with little supervision. Following company safety policies and procedures is of great importance to this position.
MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Followscompany safety policies and procedures and encourages other Associates to do the same. Safely operates forklift or other machinery in order to complete tasks such as loading, unloading, sorting, staging and transporting products, cycle counting, data entry. . Works cooperatively and productively with Department Heads and other Associates in order to complete tasks. In a DC environment arranges cartons on pallets keeping in size,weight,height,etc. Loads trucks keeping in mind cubic weight, size and characteristics (i.e., easily crushable, etc.) in mind. Works productively (i.e., receiving products, picking products, etc.) with little supervision. Provides and inspires outstanding service to customers including answering phones and data entry to ensure proper order processing. Other duties as assigned

Typically reports to Department Head.

Typically has little contact outside workgroup.
Typically assignments are very specific.
Typically refers to basic instructions when solving problems.
Typically, guidance is always available and prior permission is required before changing work methods.
ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
Due to forklifts and other heavy equipment traveling through the Distribution Center, temporary cracks may appear in the floor, causing and uneven walking surface. The warehouse environment can be dusty and noisy. Doors near working areas are frequently open, causing drafts and interior temperature changes. Interior floors near entrances and exits may become slippery during wet weather conditions. A Warehouse Associate may have to handle merchandise and working tools with sharp edges. Passing forklifts emit gas fumes. Upon certification to operate a forklift or other type of lift equipment, a Warehouse Associate may have to operate a piece of equipment using electric voltage.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must be eighteen years of age
Must pass the Drug Test
Must pass the Background Check
Must pass pre-employment tests if applicable

CERTIFICATES/LICENSES -
PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS - Requires intermittent periods during which continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting material or equipment, some of which may be heavy or awkward.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS - Requires ability to use material handling equipment
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
One year experience is preferred.
