Summary: Prepares items for shipment, and drives truck with capacity under 3 tons to transport materials to and from specified destinations such as customers facilities or vendor locations by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Assembles containers or selects preassembled containers and affixes shipping labels on packages.
Posts weights and shipping charges, and affixes postage.
Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.
Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
Stages, packs, and cycle counts required components.
Operates lift truck or uses hand truck to move shipments from shipping platform to delivery trucks.
Reads appropriate documentation to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
Provides information related to shipping activities to various departments.
Drives truck to destination.
Maintains truck log according to state and federal regulations.
Maintains telephone contact with supervisor to receive delivery instructions.
Loads and unloads LTL and company trucks.

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet software, and Microsoft Word Word Processing software.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Current valid Driver's License with a clean driving record.

Other Skills and Abilities

Ability to read, write, and speak English and Spanish. Working knowledge of UPS, Fed Ex, DHL, and Bax Global.
