Manage and direct Rhodia Inc’s maritime program for both Import and Export operations. Develop and coordinate strategies between North American maritime operations and that of the other 3 zones globally. This includes contract strategies and negotiations with all Maritime suppliers such as steamship lines, freight forwarders etc. Also responsible for negotiating towboat contracts and barge opportunities. In addition, this position is responsible for managing, supervising and directing all aspects of Rhodia’s public warehousing systems. Negotiations and execution of all contracts, expansion of Supply Chain service metrics, and internal communication with Rhodia Enterprises regarding these functions. In addition, the incumbent will be responsible for leading warehousing process improvements with an emphasis on value added activities, and to coordinate with other modes and supply chain as required.
REQUIREMENTS
REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCES:Maritime knowledge and experience with international ocean carriers trade lanes and their vessel sharing agreements.
Geographic knowledge and expertise in international trade practices and maritime regulations.Ability to influence regulatory and governmental agenicies to protect Rhodia’s interests.BS Degree and 8+ years experience in Maritime operations with 5+ years in a Management Position.
Familiarity with DOT regulations in Warehouse Operations. Ability to communicate in a highly matrix organization at all levels of management is required. Knowledge of chemical warehousing operations and the ability to negotiate effective warehousing contracts is important.
The incumbent must also possess a good business sense , analytical ability and the ability to supervise others. Familiarity with principles of six sigma and lean manufacturing is also a plus.
