Logistics Analyst

Analyzes and develops domestic and international transportation procedures and programs to minimize costs and maximize delivery efficiency for FHEG Wholesale and Retail. Responsible for performing a variety of complicated tasks relying on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. A wide degree of latitude and creativity is expected. Projects assigned by the Logistics Manager and Vice President of Distribution and Logistics. Position requires extensive interaction with internal and external customers.


Job Functions:
Performs analysis of FHEG transportation data provided by VTM and carriers.
Implements and manages routing instructions for vendors and bookstores.
Implements and manages international logistics shipping initiatives.
Creates and produces monthly freight financial reports for Senior FHEG management.
Disseminates routing instructions, changes, and/or exceptions to appropriate carrier and vendor contacts.
Point person for pay agent issues regarding accuracy of freight bill payment process.
Gathers and interprets data in preparation for contract negotiations with carriers.
Monitors import and export compliance and Customs requirements.
Handles questions and resolves issues related to carriers, vendors, bookstores, Customs,routing, and various Follett programs such as online offerings.
Identify and analyze shipping trends and profiles.
REQUIREMENTS
'3 to 5 years experience in Logistics or related field
'Bachelor's degree or equivalent
'Project Management skills
'Detailed analytical skills
'Knowledge of freight/transportation terminology
'Knowledge of international shipping and Customs regulations
'Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Access, and Word
'Excellent phone and customer service skills
'Must have initiative and be able to multi-task
