2nd Receiver

Maintains a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient customer service. Assists the Receiver in daily duties and serves as backup receiver in lead receiver's absence. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, receiving products for all teams, checking that product lists on packing slips are accurate, recording and organizing invoices, and maintaining an orderly and efficient receiving area. Duties and Responsibilities: Serves as backup receiver in absence of lead receiver Serves as lead receiver on weekends Receives organic & conventional product from outside vendors and the market Inspects all receivings for shortages, overages, damages and quality and report discrepancies to team leader(s) and buyer(s) Upholds Whole Foods Markets quality & receiving standards Adheres to the FDA’s Good Organics Double checks all purchase orders before passing into administration Checks next day’s purchase orders and advises other receivers and team leader(s) Works closely with 1st & 3rd shift supervisors to help coordinate doors and drivers Performs general store maintenance and minor repairs Maintains a safe and sanitary work environment Uses electric hand jacks and forklifts or other heavy machinery Maintains warehouse cleanliness and safety standards Uses required personal protective equipment Adheres to all policies and procedures of the company and facility
REQUIREMENTS
Self-motivated and able to work independently Ability to handle multiple tasks; strong attention to detail Mechanical aptitude Demonstrated ability to follow-through on assignments Dependable team player with a positive attitude Pallet jack and forklift experience/certification Strong organizational and communication skills Basic computer skills or the ability to learn; good math skills Speak and understand English Be available to work a rotating schedule including early mornings, weekends and holidays Receiving and/or produce knowledge/experience a plus Ability to do repetitive heavy lifting (50+ lbs.) Able to stand/walk for extended periods of time Frequent bending, squatting, kneeling and reaching above shoulder level Manual dexterity to handle objects Flexibility to work in varying temperatures (cold and warm) and dusty or damp conditions
