Warehouse Manager - Luanda, West Africa

The West Africa Logistics Group of Nalco Company has an opportunity for those who are interested in travel. We are currently seeking a Warehouse Manager for Luanda, Angola. This is a rotational position working 35 days, and then having 35 days off. Hazard/overseas travel pay premium (40%) is included. The primary responsibility of this position is to manage all aspects of country blend plant/warehouse operations to ensure equipment and specialty products are safely and efficiently delivered to direct customers or are received into stock consistent with requested delivery requirements. This position also coordinates efforts of in-country logistics provider for import, export and local distribution. The Warehouse Operations Manager will also be responsible for the following:
Responsible for all aspects of the Blend Plant and Warehouse Operations
Manages inventory of products and operating supplies to support West Africa sales
Meets with customs to clear shipments into and out of the warehouse
Maintains Container Inventory by serial number
Prepares production/shipping schedule to ensure on-time delivery
Prepares monthly reports on Inventory, Production and Invoicing
Justifies and employs contract labor as needed
Provides training for employees and contract labor
Provides and maintains a clean safe work environment
Looks out for the needs of employees and contract labor
Assures that employees and contract labor obey safety standards and environmental standards are met
Prepares shipping papers and invoices
Continuously looks for ways to improve processes
Prepares hand-over notes for rotational alternate to ensure management of change
Overlaps with back to back to make processes continuous during rotation cycles
Manages and maintains relationship with local Nalco sales force, local vendors, and customers

Warehouse cost/kg
Timely & accurate customer invoicing and tracking of warehouse expenses
On-spec manufacturing/ transfer operations
On-time shipping performance to off-shore customers
Zero stock outs of key materials

REQUIREMENTS


The successful candidate will have the following:Ability and willingness to work 358 days on, and 35 days offBS degree in Engineering, Business, Operations Planning, Logistics or equivalent3 or more years experience in warehouse operations or equivalentDetailed understanding and hands on experience operating in a chemical plant environment Experience and/or knowledge of current materials management, inventory control and transportation functions and methodologies Excellent leadership, integrity, communication skills and the ability to work in a professional team are essentialWorking knowledge of ADR and IMO regulationsExperience with meeting target deadlinesAbility to manage operational areas in a safe manner while meeting business requirements
