Director of Transportation and Logistics

You will be responsible for this business unit and function as a key liaison between the Transportation Department and the business unit. You will be accountable for achieving service performance and financial goals, including freight movements, cross docks, local fleets and rail shipments. Also responsible for cost effective delivery/return of orders, shipment tracking of same, safety/loss prevention programs, troubleshooting operations issues, strategic planning and maintaining industry relationships. Major project and initiatives will include reducing transportation spending and reducing freight costs. Your resume or cover letter MUST include cost savings.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelors degree required preferably in Transportation Management, Business, Logistics or related. MBA or Masters preferred. 10 + years experience in a manufacturing environment. MUST have freight carrier experience. Proven ability to build strong relationships with all levels of employees. Must have highly developed leadership, organizational, communication, problem solving, strategic and customer service skills.
