Senior Scientist - Epigenomics

Responsibilities: Essential duties for this role include: Plan, implement, and execute research and development projects within the Molecular Applications Department. Serve as a Molecular Biology and Cancer Research subject matter expert that is a resource within the company. Develop next versions of methods for analysis of epigenetic changes as well as inception and development of novel genotyping and comparative sequence analysis applications including methods such as ultrasensitive detection of methylation and detection of mutations in circulating tumor DNA. Select appropriate model systems and clinical samples for proof-of-concept of the developed methods. Execute laboratory research and be responsible for ensuring projects and tasks are completed within the established time frame. Determine & develop approach to solutions exercising judgment within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Work under limited direction. Perform programming and usage of liquid handling equipment. Assist in projects requiring collaborations with other research development personnel within the Molecular Applications Department, inter-departmental Projects, as well as collaborations with external partners. Organize, write, and maintain standard research documentation and compiles project specific reports. Participate and present in research related conferences. Publish scientifically relevant data in peer reviewed journals. Investigate and make recommendations on new areas for Research and Development. Independently and/or collaboratively conceive, initiate, and gain acceptance for new projects, research approaches and/or scientific direction. Identify development opportunities that can lead/contribute to positive revenue streams.
