Senior Geologist

Company: North America Mining Job Function: Engineering And Architectural Job Description: Major Responsibilities Responsible for the evaluation of exploration, development or acquisition opportunities in a significant area of exploration activity or on a major project. Has considerable latitude for independent judgment, actions, decisions and has full professional competency. Supervises and controls drilling programs, geological, geophysical and geochemical surveys, logs core and cuttings, evaluates data, completes cross sections and level maps, produces technical reports and is typically responsible for budgeting in respect to these activities. Generally requires a graduate college degree in geology with three to six years of relevant experience in exploration or mining geology.Minimum Requirements Requires a graduate college degree in geology with three to six years of relevant experience in exploration or mining geology.Preferred Qualifications Experience in performing exploration and mine geology at active mine-sites, plus a demonstrated strong knowledge in porphyry copper geology will be a distinct plus.Criteria/Conditions(specific background and skills) The position will require domestic and international travel and will be based in Tucson, Arizona.
