Project Scientist/Environmental Planner
CH2M HILL has an immediate opening for a Project Scientist/Environmental Planner in our Atlanta, GA office.
This position is for a mid to senior level scientist/planner to assist in the completion of a variety of ecosystems projects including, but not limited to, NEPA documentation, wetland delineation and permitting, protected species assessments, land use management and planning and water resource management. Job will involve preparation of NEPA documents and an understanding of environmental resources, surveys, analysis, agency coordination, and permitting. Must be able to demonstrate proven writing ability. Candidate will function as an integral member of the team and will be responsible for assessing and documenting impacts to natural environment, cultural resources and human environment.
The work will involve technical management, client service management, meeting and coordinating with key agency staff and clients, and report writing. In addition, this individual will provide support for ecosystems business development opportunities as they arise.
Interested candidates should have a strong background in environmental science and planning and a minimum of 5 years experience performing NEPA and related work. Candidate must be a strong technical writer and must have strong computer skills. Solid oral and written communication skills, ability to work in a team environment with a staff of all skill ranges and experience levels and experience with the preparation of NEPA documentation. Demonstrated meeting facilitation skills are desired.
Degree:
This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Studies, Planning, Biology, Ecology or Environmental Science or related field, MS preferred. As well as 5-10 years or more experience in NEPA related environmental analysis role.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Studies, Planning, Biology, Ecology or Environmental Science or related field from U.S. accredited college or university.
5 years experience performing NEPA and related work.
Experience working with a variety of ecosystems projects including, but not limited to, NEPA documentation, wetland delineation and permitting, protected species assessments, land use management and planning and water resource management, environmental resources, surveys, analysis, agency coordination, and permitting.
Experience assessing and documenting impacts to natural environment, cultural resources and human environment.
Ability to travel up to 35% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications:
MS degree.
Previous training in U.S. Army Corps of Engineers wetland delineation techniques a plus.
Meeting facilitation skills are desired.
