First Responder/ Environmental Scientist

We are committed to making a difference in these critical areas by providing technical services that solve such global challenges.We are seeking a mid-level Geologist, Environmental Engineer, or Environmental Scientist to provide support as a first responder (R1) on a variety of environmental projects, including emergency response with significant travel. Bachelor of Science degree is a requirement. Candidate will be providing technical support for numerous U.S. EPA contracts in the areas of emergency response.The R1 teams are on call to handle emergency responses and provide remedial and restoration guidance/solutions to clients over a large geographical area. The R1 is responsible for the planning and oversight of operations and health and safety. The right candidate must have a demonstrated successful background in managing Environmental/Emergency Response Operations in a fast paced environment. A technical background to be able to provide oversight of ER operations in an adverse environmental situation, and the expertise and ability to direct the personnel, talent and scope of services to provide a profitable solution to meet the customer's needs is essential to the success of the R1.Tetra Tech is an organization dedicated to providing its employees with a dynamic work environment, the opportunity to work with some of the industry's top leaders and a chance to make a difference. REQUIREMENTS
3-5 years experience in environmental consulting or related experience required. Strong emergency response and remediation management skills and the ability to respond quickly within a mandatory response time required. Knowledge of federal and state regulations also required. Experience with remedial design, feasibility studies, hazardous waste, site investigations, site remediation, field sampling, air quality, water resources desirable. Previous experience working on EPA projects a plus. Significant experience in local, State or Federal emergency management, law enforcement, public safety, counter terrorism, public health, fire/hazmat, EOD, emergency medicine, continuity of operations planning, and/or exercise planning and execution.
