Field Application Scientist-Membrane Separations

Business Unit: GE HealthcareFunction: SalesResponsibilities: ** A Field Application Scientist for the Western US. Support GE Healthcare Membrane Separations products sales, applications and training. Provide applications and training support for membrane products and services provided by GEHC Lifescience division. Pre-sale customer site test runs, post-sale customer technical training, optimizing filtration methods, technical seminars, and troubleshooting operational difficulties. Equipment demonstrations at customer sites or in house labs. Prepare for the demonstration to ensure successful sales. Train Regional Sales personnel, prepare and assist in the presentation of field sales seminars. Maintain ongoing communication with customers in technical and applications areas in order to identify present and future customer needs and to enhance customer relations. Communicate with product management team to enhance further product improvements, applications knowledge and product complaints.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications: BS in Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biology or Chemistry is required. MS or higher degree in same subjects or 5 years experience in membrane filtration industry preferred. In depth knowledge of membrane separations including tangential flow filtration techniques, at both bench and process scales. Minimum of 5 years lab/process scale test experiences in separation and purification by using membrane products including TFF (Crossflow) and NFF (Cartridge Filter) Good organization skills to run multiple support projects with different time lines. Strong practical knowledge of the product line in order to meet the technical needs of a diverse customer base. Strong working knowledge of computers and their operating systems. Approximately 30 to 40% overnight travel; valid Driver's license with good driving record.Desired: * PhD degree or the experience with tissue culture techniques is a plus.
