CT/Radiographer Technician - Lake in the Hills/PSJH - Part time
III. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
A). Radiographs patients per physician's orders, meeting criteria as established by department protocols.
B). Places correct identifying markers on films, labeling with patient name and (R) or (L) side, etc.
C). Evaluates diagnostic quality of radiographs taken for correct density, contrast, definition, and anatomical part. Repeats radiographs as necessary, making appropriate corrections.
D). Select and utilize the correct cassettes for an exam or exams.
E). Provides adequate history or indication for exam on voucher through interview of patient.
F). Answers patient's/visitor's questions as thoroughly as possible, explaining exam
G). Shows empathy in acquiring radiographs, being careful not to cause undue discomfort.
H). Practices appropriate infection control standards.
I). Assists radiologists/attending physicians as necessary during procedures.
J). Reports equipment malfunctions as quickly as possible to immediate supervisor.
K). Operates equipment, whether in general radiology, surgery, or bedside; including: R/F equipment, portables, c-arm portables, dark room equipment, immobilization equipment, etc.
L) Maintains appropriate skills to assess and care for patients of all ages,

N). Supports the Total Quality Management philosophy in daily work by demonstrating Respect for People, Management by Fact, Customer Satisfaction, and PDCA. Uses Quality Improvement tools and techniques in daily work activities as appropriate.
O). Maintains Illinois License by participating in and documenting attendance at required number of CE courses.
IV. OTHER FUNCTIONS:
A). Performs Quality Control duties when assigned, coordinating patient flow.
