Food Services Manager

1.Plan, coordinate, and supervise the administrative and programmatic activities of the food services department.
2.Assists the Center Director and Finance and Administration Director in the preparation of the departmental budget; monitor and control expenditures.
3.Assist in the development and implementation of new and revised policies and procedures affecting food services.
4.Provide appetizing, nutritious, and realistically proportioned meals in a clean, comfortable environment.
5.Ensure quality of production and food purchase requirements. Maintain cost control to stay within budget limitation.
6.Conduct inspections of food service areas.
7.Manage preparation of food services for special center functions and visitors.
8.Coordinate cafeteria services with Culinary Arts vocational training program. Supervise students assigned to work support/work experience in the center’s cafeteria.
9.Maintain accountability of students and property; adhere to safety and OSHA practices.
10.Cultivate and maintain a climate on center, which is free of harassment, intimidation, and disrespect to provide a safe place for staff and students to work and learn.
11.Promote the development of positive social skills through modeling appropriate behaviors and intervening when inappropriate behaviors are observed. Promote feedback to members of the Job Corps team regarding social skills procedures and intervention techniques.
REQUIREMENTS
Mandatory:
1.One-year certificate in food services field from college or technical school or equivalent combination of education and experience.
2.Five years of food services experience.
3.One year of supervisory experience.
4.Must have proven ability to work as a member of a team of individuals working toward a common goal.
5.Must have excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to prepare and manage a budget.
6.Must have a valid state drivers license with an acceptable driving record.
7.Must be able to successfully complete all mandated training requirements per government and management directives

Preferred:
1.Associate degree.
2.Experience managing a kitchen in an industrial food production environment.
