GENERAL SUMMARY/ OVERVIEW STATEMENT: Summarize the nature and level of work performed.Working under the general supervision of Principal Investigator, and in accordance with established hospital policies and procedures, conducts a variety of technical tasks, including experiments, where methodologies are clearly established. Under supervision, develops specialized software for processing, analyzing and organizing image data.PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Indicate key areas of responsibility, major job duties, special projects and key objectives for this position. These items should be evaluated throughout the year and included in the written annual evaluation.1} Develops software for system integration of specialized image processing tool (e.g. registration, segmentation, statistical analysis) under direction of the PI.2} Upgrading and debugging existing software tools.3} Develops (graphical) user interface software.4} Upgrades operating system software and installs specialized software packages.5} Provides support to users of specialized software.6} Assists with operation of imaging equipment.7} Processes experimental data using specialized software and trains others in use of the software.8} Generates reports, documentation and user guides.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor of Science in Biology or Physical Science or Biostatistics. 1-2 years laboratory experience. Sound degree of computer literacy including data analysis and statistical and graphic presentation. Good organizational and interpersonal skills, ability to work independently, clinical research experience preferred, but not essential. Interest and enthusiasm welcomed. Spanish-speaking a plus.
