Sr Research Scientist

Basic Functions and Responsibilities: **Exempt**Conceptualize, design, and conduct research on noncognitive constructs (i.e., personality, attitudes, ideology, culture, world-view, values, and other social and emotional factors) to (a) characterize their role in education, and (b) determine their convergent and discriminant validity with respect to conventional and emergent educational outcomes, such as grades, standardized achievement tests, retention, letters of recommendation, and other performance measures.Direct research and development projects including managing and coordinating staff, finances, and other resources on the use of noncognitive assessments in K-12 education, higher education (community college, college, graduate and professional school), industry, the military, and the global marketplace.Disseminate results of projects on noncognitive constructs and assessments through oral and written efforts and product demonstration and implementation.Play a role in representing ETS or Research to clients, potential clients, professional organizations, or to other areas of ETS in all areas of noncognitive constructs and assessments.Have a significant positive impact on ETS programs and/or the field of educational measurement through the publication of significant research treatises in the areas of noncognitive constructs and assessements.Serve as consultant to Research staff, clients, and senior ETS management, particularly in the areas of noncognitive constructs and assessments.Mentor junior staff, particularly in teaching them about noncognitive constructs, about ways to measure them, and about remedies and intervention strategies.Develop a proposal and obtain funding for studies on noncognitive constructs, assessments, and applications in education, training, or the workforce.Apply Info: Internal:Please send cover letter and resume to [Click here for email]. REQUIREMENTS
Education: A Ph.D. in Psychology with an emphasis on personality and individual differences.Experience: Nine years of independent research experience providing evidence of continuing and substantial contributions to the field of personality and individual differences are necessary.
