We currently have a career opportunity at our Madison, NJ headquarters for a Senior Manager, Business Research. As Senior Manager, Business Research you will be responsible for managing business research for multiple brands in support of assigned business units. This includes designing and executing market research studies, analyzing data and counseling marketing managers on a variety of issues relating to the business. The incumbent will be expected to ensure research studies are implemented correctly & be able to link learnings back to business issues & make appropriate recommendations. This position will manage two Researchers and will also manage the relationships with outside vendors/partners in assisting and developing strategies & identifying new opportunities.
The key position responsibilities include:
Having a leadership role in analysis and in formulating implications for key category and brand strategic research initiatives. Drives planning, implementation and execution of all research programs to meet defined budgets and timelines.
Providing insightful analysis and interpretation of study results. Provide specific recommendations and implications on a timely basis to maximize action ability. Follow-up with internal and external constituents to determine that their information needs have been satisfied.
Monitoring marketplace dynamics to identify opportunities/risks and recommend appropriate research to address significant trends or issues.
Supervise a team of two Business Research Associates providing professional guidance and leadership.
Directing the efforts of assigned IRI and Spectra account team personnel.
Developing presentations for key Wyeth Consumer Healthcare initiatives, inclusive of new product launches, retail pricing objectives, brand strategies, etc.
Participating in the annual preparation of Business Plans for assigned brands.
Substantiation of potential advertising claims utilizing various syndicated data sources.
Position Requirements:
Graduate degree preferred, bachelors degree required.
Minimum 10 years of direct market research experience, working for packaged goods marketers, advertising agencies and/or research supplier companies. Expertise in OTC drug industry preferred
Supervisory/Management experience in managing teams in a matrix environment
Expertise required in the following data and analytic techniques: Retail Scanner Data Analysis, Household Panel Data Analysis, Test Market Design & Analysis, Store Group Analysis, Geo-Demographic Analysis/Spectra, Marketing Mix Modeling.
Must be able to make recommendations regarding marketing our products and be adaptable to change as our ability to gain data continues to evolve at an extremely fast rate.
Project management & Quantitative analytic skills
Strong oral, written & presentation communication skills
PC skills -- Word, Excel, PowerPoint
