SAMPLE CONTROL TECHNICIAN

There is an immediate opening for a full-time Sample Control Technician in the Phoenix Lab. The position is full-time, hourly. A regular schedule of Tuesday through Friday 9 AM – 6 PM, Saturday 8 am – 12 noon. Overtime may be required based upon business needs. The Sample Control Technician reports directly to the Lab Director.

REQUIREMENTS
The responsibilities for this position are as follows:

*Perform hands-on tasks in the Sample Control department including greeting customers, receiving samples and reviewing chain of custody documentation.
*Log samples into LIMS system, label and store samples, distribute paperwork.
*Using reference material, determine if samples are rush/short hold, correct preservatives have been used, or if samples need to be subcontracted for analysis.
*Prepare and ship samples and bottle orders.
*Comply with all Quality Assurance and Health & Safety policies, especially concerning working with hazardous materials and proper lifting techniques.
*Work in a team environment with all levels of employees through out the laboratory.
*Other work as assigned in support of department and laboratory needs.

The qualification for this position are as follows:

*Must be flexible, organized and able to work in a fast paced team environment with time sensitive issues, and have ability to exercise good judgement under pressure.
*Must possess excellent customer service skills while demonstrating an ability to interact positively with customers, all levels of employees, and vendors.
*Must be detailed and have the ability to communicate effectively, including understanding written and verbal instructions, in English.
*Ability to meet QC criteria and all Health & Safety requirements.
*Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and extended shifts.
*Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds on a continual basis.
*Basic computer skills required and demonstrate a willingness to learn new software
*Experience in a laboratory and familiarity with chemical methods a plus.
