The candidate will conduct fundamental and applied research with a minimum of supervision on the production, characterization and modeling of novel materials, reactions, and/or processes to support new product development and current product improvement.
Will provide guidance and assistance to multi-disciplinary/cross functional product development teams.
Collaborate with external research partners, e.g., universities, research labs, and vendors, to formulate new and innovative research ideas and products.
Document research results and conclusions through internal reports as well as external publications and presentations.Qualifications
Experience/Skills

A PhD degree in Chemical Engineering is preferred to enable the incumbent to apply advanced scientific principals and practices to solve complex technical problems related to his/her area of expertise.
Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering or relevant field, or equivalent work experience, preferred.
Postdoctoral experience is preferred.
Experience preferred using quantum chemistry or electronic structure packages, e.g. Gaussian, and molecular simulations to obtain and/or model (1) physical & chemical properties, (2) reaction kinetics, mechanisms, and transition states, and (3) novel properties, especially magnetic and optical properties, of nonmaterial.
