Research Associate

Purpose: Aerotek Scientific is looking for a Research Scientist to join a biotechnology company.

As a Research Scientist, you will be performing cellulase and hemicellulase enzyme activity assays. You will maintain fermentation organisms and determine soluble sugars and concentrations by using HPLC and GC instrumentation to make usable products.

This is a research position so you will prepare an experimental plan and conduct and report studies assigned by the project leader. Any experience working in an R&D environment within a biotechnology company is needed. Any experience working with fermentation is a plus!

Qualifications:
* B. S. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Microbiology or related field.
* 3-5 years experience in a R&D lab within the biotechnology industry.
* Any experience with HPLC and GC great!
* Good attention to detail
* Experience carrying out research experiments
