Working independently, under general supervision, works in basic biomedical research laboratory engaged in the study of hemmorrhagic shock and gene expression. Develops modification of existing techniques, as appropriate. In collaboration with other members of the research team, gives input to the development of design protocols. Calculates, transcribes, and analyzes data using statistical techniques. May be responsible for orienting and training students and new research fellows.1.Independently performs routine and non-routine experiments which are moderate to complex. Experiments may include ELIZA assays, Northern and Western analysis, and electrophorectic mobility shift assay.2.Calculate, transcribes and analyzes data using advanced statistical techniques.3.Maintains long-term tissue storage bank, including human tissue.4.Performs animal experiments in a rat model of Hemorrhagic shock.5.In collaboration with PI and collaborators, establishes new and modifies existing research techniques.6.Coordinates lab activities such as infection control, radiation safety, and bio-safety activities.7.Assists in the orientation and training of new staff.8.All other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
BS in biological/physical scienceMust have at least one-year experience in a directly related research setting.'High degree of computer literacy.
