R & D Manager - Medical Device

R&D MANAGER: Our company manufactures and sells Circulatory Support and Vascular Graft Products. We are the world leaders in Implantable Ventricular Device Systems. JOB DESCRIPTION: R&D Manager will oversee and direct the design, development, test and support of mechanical and electro-mechanical medical devices and associated systems. Manage and oversee the project management and provide technical guidance for a variety of cross functional activities. Supervise, mentor and provide management leadership to subordinate engineering staff. RESPONSIBILITIES: R&D Manager is responsible for the development and engineering support of products as they advance into production. Coordinate with other departments such as manufacturing engineering, quality, materials, customer service and marketing to analyze and resolve problems. Supervise and coordinate activities of assigned engineers, technicians and contractors. Provide technical guidance, leadership, goal-setting, communications and management skills to guide and motivate project personnel. Provide input to company strategic and long-range business plan, and ensure that development projects further those goals.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's in Engineering with a minimum 12 years of engineering and project management experience including 5 years of medical device industry(ISO/GMP)experience as well as supervisory experience. Advanced engineering degrees preferred. Direct involvement with managing projects and excellent mechanical engineering and mechanical design knowledge and skills are essential. Proficiency with Microsoft Project and/or other project management software is required. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is advantageous. Must have good computer skills in CAD (solid modeling preferred), CAE, project management, word processing, database management, and spreadsheets.
