Project Associate

The Sickle Cell Disease Association of America, Inc. (SCDAA), which serves as the nation’s community-based volunteer organization working to resolve issues surrounding sickle cell disease is seeking a Project Associate.
SCDAA currently has a cooperative agreement with the Genetic Services Branch, Maternal and Child Health, Health Resources and Services Administration. The purpose of the cooperative agreement is to coordinate and monitor the implementation of seventeen (17) community-based Sickle Cell Disease projects also funded by the Genetic Services Branch.
The Project Associate will be responsible for providing programmatic, administrative and clerical support to the National Coordinating and Evaluation Center (NCEC) staff. This position is responsible for the tasks listed below and other duties as assigned:
REQUIREMENTS
General Responsibilities:
•Performs clerical and administrative task including word processing, copying, faxing, writing and editing correspondence.
•Process expense reimbursements and bills and assists in preparation of budget reports•Coordinates logistical arrangements for meetings and conferences, and travel arrangements for staff•Travel to and provide onsite support for conferences and meetingsAssist staff with project-related activities:
•Acts as liaison between the NCEC and participants in the grant-funded project
•Conducts research for projects using the internet and other resources
•Creates and maintains project-related databases
•Develop and maintain files of reports and other materials submitted by project grantees
•Prepares memos, tables and graphs based on findings and provides general research support related to program evaluation and health policy research.
•Prepares layout/design of forms, surveys, educational materials and booklets
•Monitors and coordinates website activitiesRequirements:•A Bachelor’s Degree with 4+ years works experience or equivalent combination of education/work experience.•An interest in sickle cell disease or other health-related issues and services.•Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly ACCESS and EXCEL.•Experience with SPSS and graphic design/publishing is a plus.•Must have demonstrated ability to work on multiple tasks/projects.•Candidates must also be detail oriented, have strong oral and written communication skills, and be able to work independently.Interested parties should send their resume to: Claudine Williams
