Ocean Optics, the industry leader in miniature optical-sensing and photonics,
is seeking highly motivated Scientific Representatives. Responsibilities
include answering inbound telephone, fax and e-mail sales inquiries, providing
technical and applications support for customers, exhibiting at trade shows
and technical conferences, and participating in creating our rapidly evolving
product line of over 1000 modular optical-sensing products.The ideal candidate is customer focused and dependable. They enjoy working in a
fast paced environment as part of a team. They have a Bachelor's degree in
science; or a higher-level technical degree in optics, physics, chemistry or
engineering. Knowledge of spectroscopy and analytical instruments is highly
desirable, as is previous sales experience. Those with experience in fiber
optic specification and sales or, ideally, fiber optic sensors, are strongly
encouraged to apply. Candidates with Associate degrees along with strong
experience in spectroscopy or analytical instrumentation, especially in sale
of those systems, may be considered as well. A desire to excel, excellent
verbal and written communication, and computer skills are mandatory. Foreign
language skill, especially Japanese, Mandarin Chine, German, Dutch,
Portuguese, Spanish or French would be a significant plus. Travel up to 10%
