Position will be responsible for the daily management of the business unit's
research operation--both resources and people--to ensure support of a team of
professional business writers and benchmarking professionals who require
ongoing, project-based information on corporate performance improvement
initiatives and marketplace trends. Primary activities include: Developing a research support strategy, including identifying appropriate
staffing, sourcing, and resources, and projecting an annual budget Hiring and training research staff and providing regular performance feedback Reviewing and analyzing internal customer information needs regularly to
ensure appropriate access to research materials and resources that will support
those needs, including databases, journal subscriptions, web-site
subscriptions, and reports, studies, and books Purchasing resource materials and developing effective vendor relationships,

REQUIREMENTS
Education Requirement:
MLS degree preferredEssential Requirements:
Position requires a minimum 10 years professional research experience,
preferably in an academic or corporate library. In addition, qualified
candidates will have:
Experience managing people or projects on behalf of other stakeholders Ability to supervise workflow of multiple professionals and provide ongoing performance assessment as well as problem-solving support
Command of aggregate database research; experience with Dialog and Factiva preferred
Command of Internet research Ability to manage multiple research requests simultaneously and meet tight deadlines, based on prioritization of need
Working knowledge of business challenges and issues in the global marketplace Exceptional ability to use a broad range of research tools to gather and summarize information for dissemination to others
Solid communication skills, especially interpersonal skills Team orientation, with ability to work independently and be self-motivat
