REQUIREMENTS
The Director of Corporate and Foundations Relations is responsible for developing and implementing a proactive program to identify, qualify, cultivate, and solicit Corporations and Foundations in support of a comprehensive capital campaign. The position will focus on gifts exceeding $50,000. Involves collaboration with the Vice President and other Directors in the Office for Institutional Advancement to plan and implement the Institute's fundraising and outreach strategies.
Job Requirements: The ideal candidate will have a record of success in achieving significant corporate gifts and foundation/government grants; 5-7 years fundraising experience, including 3+ years in a foundation/corporate setting and grant preparation; Capital Campaign experience is preferred; fundraising and development expertise in the research and biomedical fields is a major plus. Candidates with sales experience particularly in biotech or biomedical industries from the for profit sector are also encouraged to apply.
Identify, develop and solicit lead gifts from corporations, foundations and private organizations to support comprehensive capital campaign.
Build long term relationships and communicate effectively with executive level corporate teams as appropriate, e.g. CEO, CFO, and Chief Marketing Officer.
Design and implement a strategic plan for building and managing corporate and foundation gift program.
Research funding sources, plan, write, package and submit grant proposals.
Demonstrate through “success stories” and documentation, a record of significant accomplishments.
Achieve fundraising targets within allocated budgets.
Cultivate and solicit new relationships for donors of gifts of $50,000 to $250,000+
Requires comprehensive knowledge of advanced development strategies, and techniques.
Understand the scientific priorities on campus in order to articulate the case for support and sense of urgency to prospective donors.
