Clinical Trials Officer - #116

Salary commensurate with experience


Review and negotiate pre-clinical and clinical trial agreements/contracts, budgets, material transfer agreements, collaboration agreements and confidentiality agreements.
Responsible for all pre-and post-award administrative aspects of an industry-sponsored study.
Assist the investigator in all areas relating to the submission of industry-sponsored studies
Review industry-sponsored grant and contract proposals
Negotiate industry-sponsored grant and contract awards
Establish new projects and monitor projects
Monitor financial status of assigned accounts
Coordinate industry-sponsored grant and contract information with LA BioMed departments and study staff
Prepare subcontracts
Interpret granting agencies policies and procedures
Interpret institutional policies and procedures
Perform other duties as required by the Director, Pre-Clinical/Clinical Trials Unit
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree required/Master’s degree preferred with at least two years of related industry-sponsored project administration experience. At least two years working experience in negotiating industry-sponsored research agreements. Clear understanding of standard contractual language (e.g., publication, indemnification and intellectual property terms) and ability to negotiate intellectual property terms and conditions related to patents, and other technology transfer issues. Able to interpret Institutional policies and procedures as they apply to the submission of proposals and the appropriation of funds and management of study accounts. Financial experience and study account management knowledge required. Must have excellent interpersonal skills to develop and maintain cooperative and productive working relationships with LA BioMed colleagues, faculty, and representatives of various organizations and agencies. Demonstrated ability to cultivate and maintain positive working relationships with external sponsor agencies. Ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, maintain confidentiality, take initiative to improve upon current procedures and work in a fast pace environment. PC capability with knowledge of standard software. Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
