Clinical Study Technician

This position assists with renal research by interviewing patients, coordinating data, and completing IRB required paperwork.

Perform face-to-face interviews with selected renal patients.

Interview dialysis patients, assess dry weight, evaluate symptoms of low blood volume, perform phlebotomy, communicate with PI about these issues.

Analyze and code data for document preparation by the PI.
REQUIREMENTS


Bachelor’s degree in Science or health-related field or any Bachelor’s degree, plus 1 year of experience in clinical study or High School diploma, plus 5 years experience in clinical or patient related area, including 2 years in clinical study.



Knowledge/skills/abilities required:

The position requires demonstrated strong ability in written and verbal communications. Requires the applied knowledge of data entry and Microsoft office applications such as Excel and Word.

Knowledge of medical terminology and phlebotomy preferred. If no prior phlebotomy training, applicant should be willing to learn upon hire.



Mental demands:

Flexibility with work hours required, detailed work, repetitive tasks, multiple concurrent tasks, patient contact, constant interruptions, and repeated distractions.



Physical demands:

Sitting for extended periods of time, ability to attend clinic with PI at multipe sites (driving distance less than 50 miles), handling blood & urine samples

Moderate exposure to blood borne pathogens and other potentially infectious materials.
