Clinical Research Training Coordinator
Position Summary
Serve as primary staff person supporting the development and implementation of coordinated clinical research training activities at City of Hope National Medical Center and Beckman Research Institute. Facilitate the coordination of courses across extant programs and the development of new courses and programs. Serve as registrar, create and maintain databases, perform institutional training research.
The following are essential job accountabilities:
-Document extant programs and courses (including content). Identify duplications in course content, if any. Prepare and present reports of findings.
-Staff the development of new training courses and programs (e.g., clinical research regulatory training). Work with course coordinators to assure that curricula content and assignments are created and assigned before course implementation.
-Staff relevant committees/task forces, ensuring follow up as necessary.
-Serve as registrar for courses/programs not required to be documented in the Medical Staff Office (e.g., track trainees during training, record completion of program requirements, generate certificates of completion/transcripts, etc).
-Perform institutional training research (e.g., data collection and analyses on course evaluations, trainee performance and satisfaction); create and maintain database of trainees (e.g., positions attained post-training, accomplishments).
-Create policy manual.
-Provide staff support to accreditation processes as necessary.
-Draft, or write over own signature, letters, reports, minutes, and other documents using proper English grammar and spelling.
-Assure ongoing communications with faculty and trainees on issues of importance to their responsibilities. Serve as problem solver and facilitator with and among course leaders and instructors.
-Facilitate the transfer of course content to web-based versions for ease of use by trainees.
-As assigned, present materials at training courses.
-Supervise and/or perform clerical support functions such as reserving rooms, word processing, data entry, filing, etc.
-Perform additional duties as necessary for the development and implementation of clinical research training programs and their coordination.
-Maintain professional growth and development through seminars and workshops as appropriate.
-Follow established City of Hope and department policies, procedures, objectives, performance improvement, attendance, safety, environmental, and infection control guidelines. Practice a high level of integrity and honesty in maintaining confidentiality.

Position Qualifications
-Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree; Master’s preferred. Experience may substitute for degree
-Minimum Experience: Five years working in an educational environment. Experience in clinical research environment
-Req. Certification/Licensure: Current CA driver’s license and good driving record for insurance purposes
