Cell Culturing Research Associate

Seeking a Cell Culturing Research Associate at the Center for Biomedicine and Genetics (CBG). The pay is Approximately $ 40,000 based on experience.

Responsibilities will include cell culture, virus production, document preparation (generation of SOPs or detailed protocols), materials management, environmental monitoring, production room preparation, product testing, analytical assay development, equipment management, and Quality Assurance support.

The ideal candidate should have some level of experience in cell culture (sterile technique) and be willing to work at a large scale. Any previous experience with production of virus would be a great plus. The individual should be able to write protocols clearly such that others can follow.

The individual should work well independently as well as part of a team. Any previous experience with FACS analysis (Fluorescent activated cell sorting) is a plus as this technique may be used to monitor viral titers. Many procedures involve production of some product used for a clinical trial (hence, done under GMP or good manufacturing practice).
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelors Degree in biological sciences. 2-3 years post graduate biological or chemical laboratory experience. A graduate degree may substitute for work experience. Basic Biology (Molecular and Cellular, Organismic), Immunology helpful.
