Under the direction of the Manager, Cancer Research Center, the Cancer Clinical Trials Research Nurse is a professional registered nurse that helps to coordinate the activities of the Cancer Clinical Trials Program and has the knowledge and ability to facilitate, implement, and manage adult oncology patients entered on industry and cooperative group clinical trials.The Research Nurse acts as a liaison between the Principal Investigator, physician extender, study sponsor, physicians, nursing staff, pharmacy, and other member of the multi-disciplinary team involved in the care of patients enrolled in clinical trials.The Research Nurse knows, follows, and actively supports the philosophy, mission, and care values of Ingalls Cancer Research Center and the Cancer Center, and adheres to all hospital and cancer centers policies, procedures, and standards of care.
REQUIREMENTS
QUALIFICATIONS:
Nursing Degree required, BSN preferred.Current IL RN Licensure with Oncology Certification and/or Certified Clinical Research Associate preferred.At least three years experience as an oncology nurse and/or clinical trials data manager/research nurse required.Superior written and verbal skills are essential, including the ability to communicate in easily understandable language complicated research principles to health volunteer study population.Must have a working knowledge of computers, medical conditions, research techniques, and the application of clinical research.Must be knowledgeable about the environment and system, which the patient must move in order to obtain care.What’s inside you?
