Associate Research Scientist

POSITION PURPOSE:The Principal Scientist will be responsible for developing and incorporating new materials and compounds into biomedical devices in support of the overall Polymer Materials R&D sustained-release efforts. This scientist will be involved in the full range of activities from initial research to final commercialization. The Principal Scientist will provide hands-on technology leadership and project planning to identify compounds and formulations for improved performance, innovative to the industry. In addition, the individual will coordinate research efforts and will make presentations of technology to research management. Additionally, the Principal Scientist will display the desire and potential to grow within the organization.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:Identify compounds and techniques for sustained-release from Si-Hy materials.Identify Manufacturing techniques for implementation of technology.Support Materials Science Group in other Si-Hy and non-Si-Hy ProjectsQualifications
Minimum Required Education:
Masters Science in Polymer Chemistry, Materials Science and Engineering, Pharmaceutics or affiliated disciplinesMinimum Required Experience:
2 years postgraduate
industrial experience with a proven track record of polymer technology development success from conceptualization through to commercial product.Preferred Level Education:
Masters of Science in
Polymer Chemistry, Materials Science and Engineering, Pharmaceutics or affiliated disciplines.Preferred Level Experience:
3-5 years
industrial experience with a proven track record of polymer technology development success from conceptualization through to commercial product. Specific experience with hydrogel polymers and or biocompatible materials and the utilization controlled release from medical devices is strongly preferred.
