Supervisor, Underwriting

Supervisor, Underwriting Essential Job Function: Oversees the underwriting staff, ensuring adherence to Countrywide's policies, procedures and underwriting guidelines.Responsibilities:

Reviews loan conditions to ensure accuracy, completeness and compliance with FHA/VA and Countrywide Home Loan standards.

Examines loan-to-value ratios, credit reports and applications.

Communicates loan decisions to mortgage brokers.

Negotiates the loan information necessary to properly structure and finalize incomplete loan packages.

Provides training and guidance to staff members.

Offers performance input to the Assistant Branch Manager or Branch Manager for appropriate action.

Exercises courteous, efficient, effective and timely service to customers to ensure good business practices.

Stays abreast of any FNMA/FHLMC and FHA/VA regulation changes and underwriting provision, as well as Countrywide's policies and procedures.

Informs the Assistant Branch Manager or Branch Manager of the status of problem files and requests assistance when appropriate.Requirements:

A high school diploma or equivalent.

5 years underwriting FHA/VA and residential loans.

1 year of supervisory experience.

DE/lapp approved.

Accurate knowledge of key secondary market and investors.

Demonstrated knowledge of FNMA/FHLMC and FHA/VA product guidelines.

Excellent communication, financial analysis and typing (35 wpm) skills.
