Review Appraiser

One of the nation’s premier non-prime mortgage banking institutions, Accredited Home Lenders, Inc., was founded in 1990. The San Diego-based Company is engaged in the business of originating, servicing and selling residential mortgage loans that do not generally conform to the credit or other criteria established by the Fannie Mae and the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corp. (Freddie Mac). Accredited’s loans are commonly referred to as nonconforming or “non-prime” mortgage loans.
We are seeking a Review Appraiser for our St. Petersburg wholesale mortgage division to work in conjunction with the Chief Appraiser and Division Credit Manager in facilitating the review of all Internal and External Appraisal Review requests; assist in a timely and accurate review of all appraisals. Other responsibilities include:
Review all incoming internal appraisal request to determine the adequacy, completeness and value.
Determine if the property meets minimum company guidelines for property.
Perform a timely review of all appraisals with the original report.
Determine the types and extent of all External Reviews.
Work closely with each Team Underwriting and Processing staff in the resolution of all appraisal concerns or questions.
Review all External Reviews which contain valuation reductions, and determine their adequacy and acceptability.
REQUIREMENTS
AA degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of 3 years direct appraisal/review experience, beyond a trainee level, required. Must be familiar with industry guidelines including but not limited to, USPAP and FMNA/FHLMC. FHA/VA helpful. Knowledge of appraisal theories required. Must have current appraisal license in the state of Maryland. Residential Appraisal License required. Intermediate computer skills required.
