Summary: As Design Manager, you will support our Regional Business Unit. This unit encompasses 30-40 Regional Shopping Centers. You will work closely with the Director, Planning and Design and be accountable for site planning with a focus on parking, retail adjacencies, operations and architectural design. The purpose of the Design Manager position is to support the Business Unit with planning/design solutions to increase shopping center competitive edge in the market place while maintaining a cost effective budget and low operations cost. Projects will range in size from 20,000 square feet to over 1.5 million square feet with a cost of $500,000 to in excess of $100M.



Job Duties of the Design Manager include the following:

The Design Manager is responsible for site layout for compatibility with purpose of property. Examples include adequate parking, access to site, review restrictions, anchor stores and GLA.

The Design Manager will support each specific developer as the project moves forward in the city processes as well as through the approvals by anchor stores.

The Design Manager will act as liaison between the developer and consultant(s).

The Design Manager will recommend, interview and select (with Director, Planning and Design and developer) project consultants.

The Design Manager will establish design concept and program building plan. Integrate leasing progress with design and construction documents.

The Design Manager will monitor consultants through construction.

The Design Manager will plan and provide visuals for presentation to the leasing group, operations, management, the communities and anchor stores.

The Design Manager will travel 50%.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture required. Architectural State Registration preferred.

Five plus years experience in architecture and planning, three plus years of construction and shopping center planning experience.

Understanding of building materials, budgets, use of space and time for projects.

AutoCAD 2002 or equal, Lotus Notes, excellent presentation skills.

Five plus years supervisory experience.
