Compensation: $55,000 to $70,000 + Benefits

Well established real estate investment and management firm is seeking a motivated, multi-tasking person with experience in the field of real estate accounting. Our privately held company has been in business for over 50 years and owns a multi-state portfolio of primarily industrial and retail properties. Our offices are located in an office building with covered parking adjacent to the east side of Beverly Hills.

Our small office environment calls for strong team working skills and a proactive work ethic. We maintain a business casual, people oriented environment and we offer both medical insurance and a retirement plan. Our office hours are 9:00am to 6:00pm Monday through Friday, however, the hours can be a little flexible to accommodate your needs. We are closed on weekends.

This position performs all the accounting duties for our multiple real estate holding entities and includes all bookkeeping and accounting aspects through the tax returns that are completed by an outside accounting firm. Most of our AP and AR functions are handled by our administrative person. Responsibilities include:

General Ledger
Bank Statement reconciliation
Assists property manager and staff with property related accounting issues.
Oversee/coordinate/analyze all cash receipts/cash disbursements.
Operating expense reconciliations.
Maintaining proper bank balances and moving funds as needed.
Reviewing monthly Stock and Municipal Bond Brokerage statements.
Prepare financial statements.
Mortgage files.
Some tenant contact and back-up telephone support.

REQUIREMENTS
Skills/Position Requirements:
Knowledge and understanding of basic computer skills.
Knowledge of general real estate accounting practices.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Proficient with Microsoft Word processing and Excel spreadsheets.
Minimum 5 years experience in a full charge accounting position.
Experience with MRI or similar property management software a plus
Some real estate accounting experience preferred.
