Usability Tester

Responsibilities: The Usability Tester is a functional expert for testing retail transaction issues within our client and the restructured electricity market in Texas. This person will provide technical support for the Retail Testing & Quality Control team and supports the Retail Testing Coordinators with our internal client and Market testing. This person will be expected to support the team to process transactions to review, test and implement changes, fixes and requests for the Retail Testing Environments. This person will be the primary testing resource for scheduled releases and the secondary testing resource for emergency production migrations and production verifications. This role manages defects with IT Support teams and Retail Testing Coordinators; assists with creation of processes and procedures to ensure the efficient, effective and thorough testing of ERCOT systems with input from business teams, development, and IT Support; and identifies System Investigation Requests (SIRs) with input from business, development, and IT Support teams. This person maintains proficiency in the use of all internal department documentation, the testing responsibilities within the System Investigation Request (SIR) process, and testing requirements; keeps Testing Coordinators informed of schedules and timelines, statuses, issues, mitigations and all other information necessary for successful testing execution; and assists with the compilation of Market Notification information as appropriate for Market Support/Client Relations. This person assists with the coordination of scheduled Retail Market Test flights; operates complicated and sophisticated software and used to map, document or debug transactions; and analyzes system performance and recommends business enhancements.
