THE ROLE

Join the Netflix Electronic Delivery Team and improve the movie experience of millions of movie lovers.

Our team of engineers from ReplayTV, TiVo, AOL and Microsoft is looking for a Senior QA Engineer with experience developing and executing functional and automated tests for three-tier web server applications. If you have a feel for what’s right for the consumer, take pride in delivering quality software, and enjoy the challenge of building next-generation products that will be used by millions of customers, then we want to hear from you.

The ideal candidate must be able to apply creative approaches to test server performance, stress and scalability issues. The candidate should also exhibit expertise creating test tools and assist with release engineering. As a key member of Netflix’s Electronic Delivery Team, this person must be a highly motivated individual with excellent communication skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Create test plans for three-tier web server applicationsDevelop and execute functional and automated server tests
Test server performance, stress and scalability issues
Report defects and project status to team membersTroubleshoot issues found during the development life cycleAssist with release engineering and creating test tools

QUALIFICATIONS

6+ years as a software quality engineerExperience testing three-tier web server applicationsProficient in Java, PERL/Python, Unix Shell, XML, TomcatGeneral knowledge of Oracle and MySQL
Experience with build systems using Make and AntExcellent verbal and written communicationsOrganized. Methodical. Creative. Self-motivated.BS, BE or equivalent
