Research and Development and Quality Assurance Manager

The R&D/QA Manager is responsible for leading the R&D/QA initiatives and supporting strategic objectives and annual operating plans of CARIBLA as a region.

Responsible for supporting key business initiatives through the CaribLA Region including the Quality Assurance Programs, development and implementation of new products in a highly competitive fast paced environment

Major job functions include:
1. Implement Quality Assurance Programs with key suppliers and audit programs with them.

2. Develop products from concept to rollout in support of Blue Chip initiatives. Must meet consumer acceptance norms, C.O.S. targets and operational execution requirements.

3. Proactively direct and manage suppliers to develop, optimize and commercialize ingredients in support of Blue Chip initiatives.

4. Effectively work with Marketing and Operations to gain consumer feedback and make appropriate ingredient and product modifications.

5. Develop procedures to ensure field readiness incorporating operations input.

6. Demonstrate ability to analyze technical data, anticipate project next steps and make recommendations.

7. Demonstrate thorough understanding of cross-functional team roles and responsibilities, exemplifying functional excellence while representing Quality Assurance and Product Development from concept through implementation.
REQUIREMENTS
• B.S. or higher in Food Science or related subject

• Minimum five years in food related industry

• Ability to communicate effectively, work with a wide range of people and influence teams

• Demonstrated experience and success in Quality Assurance and product development/roll-outs

• Deep knowledge on Dairy and Poultry Processing and HACCP programs

• Ability to prioritize and successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously within aggressive timetables.

• Fully bilingual English – Spanish (writing and speaking)

• Previous business and cultural experience in Latin America preferable.
