Quality Eng/Supv. Plastic Additives

This position is located at one of our Plastic additive and Color concentrates batch facility. GENERAL SUMMARY: This position supports Plant Manufacturing by utilizing quality control standards, procedures, and statistical techniques in order to develop and maintain quality standards. The Quality Engineer applies fundamental knowledge of basic principles, theories and concepts of industry standards and practices to support the planning, coordination and direction of quality systems for continuous improvement within the Plant. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: -Initiate actions to ensure continued success by meeting and exceeding the Plant objectives in quality, productivity, and costs. -Actively participate on plant teams to promote continuous improvement. -Assist manufacturing and support groups with quality data analysis. -Coordinate problem solving activities within manufacturing regarding customer complaints -Drive accountability for corrective actions until completion. This involves education and coordination of problem resolution activities. -Assist engineers to define and analyze process conditions, conduct capability studies and improve line capabilities. -Monitors and revises processes to help generate cost savings and improve the quality and efficiency of product/process. -Other duties as assigned.

Required Education, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: -Bachelor's of Science degree in engineering, mathematics, statistics or related degree from accredited four-year college or technical school. -Problem Solving Techniques (quality tool box: Pareto, trend analysis, Cause and Effect diagrams, control charting, process flow charting, process mapping, variability measurements, other root cause analysis techniques). -Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. -Ability to speak effectively before groups of associates. -Knowledge of manufacturing systems and processes.
