Quality Control Technician

Business Unit: NBC UniversalFunction: OperationsResponsibilities: Universal Digital Services is a centralized full service facility within NBC Universal's Studio Operations Group that provides a wide range of video post production services to divisions within NBC Universal and third party clients. Universal Digital Services specializes in feature and episodic mastering, feature and television post services, film transfers, color correction, editing and video duplication, standard conversion, quality control and digital dailies.Responsibilities to include:View Hi definition and standard definition formats documenting specs, format information, logging problems, and creating film dirt lists
Generate quality control reports
Communicate with managers, schedulers, tape operators, and editors~HJ~
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications: Basic QualificationsHigh School degree and minimum of three years Quality Control experience in an Entertainment/Post Production environment
Minimum 3 years experience with Word and Excel required as well as working experience with a standard Quality Control program
Minimum 3 years experience in QC'ing Hi definition and standard definition video masters, all format, all VTR playback
Minimum 3 years of knowledge and understanding of all film and video aspect ratios required

Must be willing to work Graveyard Shift (11pm - 7:30am)
Willingness to work possible overtime and weekends
Must be willing to work at the Universal City location
Must be willing to take drug test and submit to a background investigation
Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United StatesDesired: Familiarity with the operation of VTR playback machines
Ability to read and understand all monitoring equipment, scopes, waveforms, and VU meters
Familiarity with SMPTE specifications
Ability to distinguish film problems and anomalies from video related problems and anomalies
Ability to QC objectively and within acceptable time frame parameters
