Quality Assurance Analyst / Tester

**POSITION IS A CONTRACT TO HIRE**

Perform QA functions in the testing of new/modified software being prepared for production release.

Review release definitions.
Analyze technical documentation and supply input into design, identify discrepancies between specifications and implementation.
Write test plans / cases to support system level testing.
Create test data to support testing.
Execute test cases.
Automation of Test cases where required (Compuware)
Write test reports documenting results of testing.
Recommend areas for process improvement.
Proactive in implementing new ideas for improving proficiencies within the department.
Work effectively with developers to resolve discrepancies found during test.
Educate and train junior members of the department in following QA Test Standard guidelines for all QA activities.
Educate and guide developers in following SDLC standards and procedures for all activities.
Support and supply direction to junior members of the department on all QA activities.
REQUIREMENTS
Experience and Skills Requirements:
Strong knowledge of QA standards and methodologies.
Good written and oral skills.
Experience in working in UNIX environment.
Experience in writing complex SQLs.
Experience in Automation recording/data generation tools preferred(Compuware).
Highly experienced working with relational databases.
Team player.
2-5 years experience in a Development and QA test role.
AS degree or equivalent.
