ROLE SUMMARYPosition has specific responsibility for development of credit risk strategies and policies for small business new accounts. This will necessitate identification, design and implementation of complex statistical and business analyses projects to develop credit policies in support of business strategy. A strong understanding of the relationships between key business drivers and overall impact on risk/reward trade-offs will be a requisite.This role offers a significant and challenging opportunity for individuals looking to apply existing skills whilst also providing extensive opportunities to develop a broad range of Risk Management capabilities and an understanding of key business drivers within a large-scale credit card issuer.Role requires a strong analytically minded individual capable of working on their own initiative, good communication skills are required as there will be a high degree of liaison with other business partners.KEY DELIVERABLES (PERFORMANCE MEASURES) Act as Risk Management liaison with Marketing, Operations and Finance functions in inter-department projects. Initiate, develop and implement credit risk criteria for new accounts across a range of segments and products establishing appropriate profitability trade offs using various tools to maximize business return on the business exposure ensuring that key business factors are understood and measured e.g. impact on usage, revenue and risk. Create and run an effective range of segmentation, champion/challenger programs in a fully controlled environment. Establish and maintain effective strategy performance tracking ensuring that strategies are performing as expected and feeding back learning’s into strategy and / or policy changes in a timely manner. Development and implementation of a comprehensive range of new account policies consistent with achievement of defined business objectives. Identify and make enhancements to the business’s use of internal and external data sources within account management processes. Work with other team members on projects, assuming leadership roles on cross-functional teams when required to meet project objectives. Serves as resource to less experienced associates in solving business problems. Act as a liaison with business partners in intra-departmental projects and presents findings to management and business partners.
REQUIREMENTS
REQUIRED SKILLS:
EXPERIENCECandidates will be expected to have a proven track record of developing analytical solutions within the financial services industry, preferably within a credit card environment (minimum 4-5 years depending on experience level). High level of proficiency in data analysis. Small Business experience is a plus.COMPETENCIES Proficiency with statistical software and other analytical tools, including SAS and MS Excel. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to present findings and recommendations to Senior Management. Self-starter capable of managing assignments with limited supervision. Ability to deliver results in a deadline driven environment while working under own initiative. Proficiency in analytical principles, tools and techniques. A high level of inquisitiveness, initiative and critical thinking required to formulate the above mentioned business issues into analytical problems and devise actionable solutions.EDUCATIONBachelor’s degree required with emphasis in quantitative disciplines (statistics, econometrics, etc.). MBA preferred.
