Product Assurance Manager

Purpose: Position: Manager, Product Assurance (Quality Mgmt) Masters degree preferred Salary range: $117 - $128K

Must be at least a Six Sigma Green Belt and possess strong leadership skills. Must have knowledge of cabin system operations. Experienced in aerospace/avionics industry.



Responsible for executing product assurance-related activities in alignment with the Quality Management System and Operations goals/objectives. Assignments are received in objective-oriented terms. Work is reviewed in terms of meeting objectives and schedules.
Exerts considerable influence in the implementation of operational objectives and long-range goals of the Product Assurance organization, Operations business unit, and the enterprise.

Frequent contacts with internal management (multiple levels) concerning projects, operational decisions, scheduling requirements, or contractual clarifications. Excellent communication skills in understanding and influencing people are important in setting strategic vision, achieving job objectives, and facilitating conflict resolution/action. Accomplishes results through teamwork in gaining commitment from peer leaders and exempt employees, establishing operational objectives and work plans. Responsible for managing a department and all projects assigned to the department.

Conducts quality assurance tests and performs statistical analysis to assess the cost of and determine the responsibility for products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications. Acts as a role model for others in continuous improvement efforts, using Lean/Six Sigma techniques for breakthrough achievements.
Participates in the review of engineering designs to contribute quality assurance requirements and considerations. Reviews status of in-process rejections and recommends appropriate corrective action. Responsible for field failure data analysis. Advises management of test trends, returns, audit results and corrective action required.
Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

Works on issues where analysis of situations and data requires an in-depth knowledge of operational objectives. Implements operational policies when selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Establishes and assures adherence to budgets, schedules, work plans, and performance requirements.
