Mechanical Inspector

Perform turnaround inspection and planning.

Write technical reports

Document API 510 & 570 inspections

Provide new construction quality assurance/quality control

Perform welding inspections

Perform shop surveillance inspection of pressure equipment

Perform relief valve inspection and tracking

Perform additional duties as needed/directed within the Inspection Department.
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum of 7 years experience of documented inspection experience in a petrochemical facility; refinery experience would be a plus.

API 510 Certification

API 570 Certification

API-653 and CWI Certification would be a plus.

Understanding of refinery damage mechanism (API-571).

Ability to understand and interpret engineering standards and drawings.

Strong working knowledge of National Codes and Standards (ASME, API, AWS, ASNT, TEMA)

Experience with non-destructive examination techniques such as ultrasonic testing, dye penetrant testing, magnetic particle testing, and radiographic film interpretation.

Construction/maintenance background is preferred as well as a mechanical integrity/PSM background

Ability to efficiently manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously

Good oral, written, communication, interpersonal, and troubleshooting skills

Strong computer skills and database management experience; good writing skills.

Familiarity with Plant Condition Management Systems (PCMS) software or similar inspection database management systems would be a plus.
