Lab Compliance Manager - Fort Lauderdale (Palms South) -

Job Title: Laboratory Compliance Manager

2. Exemption: Exempt

3. Summary: The Laboratory Compliance Manager will lead programmatic compliance activities at two End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) laboratories, specifically in the area of research, interpretation and communication of regulatory requirements in billing and reimbursement of laboratory services, health care fraud/abuse and contracting.

4. Qualifications: Minimum qualifications include a Bachelors Degree and/or 3-5 years of related experience within a healthcare regulatory compliance environment. This professional must also have the ability to present information and findings in a clear and concise manner to upper management for decision making purposes.

5. Essential Job Functions:


Lead programmatic compliance activities specifically in the area of research, interpretation and communication of regulatory requirements in billing and reimbursement of laboratory services, health care fraud/abuse and contracting.

Develop and implement policies and procedures in compliance related areas specific to the laboratory.

Responsible for the communication, education and training of such materials as needed.

Identifies and assesses areas of compliance risk within DaVita Laboratory Services, Inc., and DVA Laboratory.

Recommends and reviews adherence to interdepartmental policies and procedures to ensure that regulatory-required aspects are incorporated.

Responsible for the delivery of training on the Compliance Program as directed by the Compliance Team.

Maintains a working knowledge of relevant issues, laws and regulations related to DaVita and corporate compliance.

Self motivated with the ability to work independently will little oversight

Develops workplans and effectively manages to meet project milestones

Communicates succinctly in both oral and in written form

Must have technical ability to use MS Word, Excel, and Powerpoint – MS Access a plus.

Ability to manage teams of 2-4 individuals
