Director of Sox Compliance

McLean, VA.This position is responsible for coordinating all activities related to SOX, including:


Developing an annual plan to reaffirm documentation/flow charts, reassess controls and deficiencies and retest all key controls within SOX guidelines.

Updating documentation/flow charts, evaluating controls and identifying control deficiencies as new systems are developed and/or processes change.

Consulting with internal/external auditors, outside consultants, business owners and managers in an articulate manner and having the knowledge base required to defend judgments and opinions.

Consulting with management in the development of corrective action plans, as appropriate.

Participating, as necessary, in the reviews/testing performed by the internal audit and outside consultants and the external auditors related to the audits of the SOX documentation

Providing timely notification to management of any significant internal control weaknesses.

Staying abreast of developments/regulations related to SOX.

Performing other duties as directed.



This position requires a B.A. or B.S degree in accounting, and a CPA or CIA.
The successful candidate with have at least 8 years of experience, with a combination of public accounting and internal audit preferred.
The successful candidate will have excellent written and oral communication skills and strong organizational and project management skills.
