Job Category: Compliance/Director, ComplianceGeneral Responsibilities: Using strong project management and leadership skills, drives and directs compliance-related technology and other projects to ensure that project deliverables meet deadlines and requirements. Such projects will include point-of-entry enhancements, browser technology, and on-line sales. This will require close coordination with the Anti-Money Laundering (AML) operations team, including advising on the best use of the Norkom system, as well as advising on other requirements for transaction monitoring and the reporting of SARs and CTRs. In essence, the incumbent is the primary liaison between AML “operations” and AML “subject matter experts.”
Along with other compliance staff, the incumbent will serve as an the AML/compliance liaison to new product development teams to ensure that MGI’s products are compliant with applicable AML laws and regulations.
Works closely with legal department staff, including legal specialists, to assist in resolving issues and providing guidance on AML-related matters. When necessary, communicates with regulators and law enforcement officials.
Keeps abreast of important and relevant AML issues, laws and regulations that impact the business. Identifies trends and opportunities to further improve the company's money laundering compliance program, including opportunities to leverage technology. Coordinates AML functions with other AML managers and staff, including MIL’s AML staff, to ensure a consistent, high quality program. Maintains all MGI AML policies to ensure they are accurate, up-to-date, and being followed by AML staff, as well as all other MGI personnel.
Other duties as assigned; including due diligence on acquisitions, and integration of acquisitions.

Minimum 5 years of hands-on project management experience. Experience successfully driving projects of a technical nature, for example systems enhancements. Experience in effectively leading and managing activities on multiple simultaneous cross-functional and cross-organizational projects. Demonstrated ability to establish and review/reevaluate plans. This includes translating business needs into clear tactics, action plans and accountabilities, preparing realistic estimates of the project or departmental budget, staff and other resources, anticipating problems and developing contingency plans, and integrating planning efforts across work units. Resourceful, detail oriented, methodical, demonstrates time management skills, required.
Strong demonstrated decision-making ability, required.
Strong demonstrated problem analysis skills, including an excellent track record of driving successful process improvements, required.
Capability to communicate effectively, concisely and professionally with senior management regarding difficult and complex issues, required.
Minimum 5 years of experience in a regulatory/compliance role, required, preferably in the banking or financial services industry.
Experience working with anti-money laundering issues, required.
In-depth working knowledge of Bank Secrecy Act and Anti-Money Laundering Regulations, USA Patriot Act, Office of Foreign Assets Control, preferred.
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, required.
Demonstrated ability to draft clear and professional correspondence, policies and procedures and other documents of a legal and business nature, required.
Experience communicating with regulators and law enforcement agencies, required.
Experience public speaking and making clear and persuasive business presentations. Demonstrated ability to promote ideas and proposals persuasively, required.
Demonstrated ability to appropriately work with confidential information, required.
Proficient with MS Word, required.
BA degree in business related field, or J.D, or equivalent combination of post-secondary education and work experience, required.Special Considerations: Willingness to travel up to 25%, required.
