Supplier Quality Manager
Position Summary:

This position will be responsible for development and execution of a thorough supplier development, certification, and reporting process. In addition, incumbent takes a leadership role in investigating and addressing any quality issues potentially related to raw materials.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Develop appropriate supplier/vendors certification/re-certification methodologies and programs related to:Raw Materials
Packaging Materials
Other Production MaterialsDevelops and prioritizes an auditing schedule to ensure that designated suppliers are assessed on a regular basis are compliant with GMPs and quality standards.
Communicates quality requirements and expectations to suppliers.
Assists in Continuous improvement program as it relates to suppliers/vendors and ensures that identified gaps are addressedin a timely manner
Develop, implement, and maintain supplier performance tracking process.
Communicates suppliers’ performance measurements to purchasing, quality, engineering, operations, and development.
Interfaces with suppliers to report performance measurements & ensure corrective actions are achieved through root cause analysis.
Coordinates special project teams related to supplier quality issues (Sensory issues, packaging components not meeting spec, etc)
Interfaces with QA and Purchasing to ensure supplier quality standards are being met.
Facilitates internal groups to drive quality initiatives as required
REQUIREMENTS
Basic Qualifications and Physical Requirements:

Education and Experience:Bachelors in Chemistry or related discipline, preferably with a focus in Polymer. Masters degree a plus.
5+ years experience in plastic/foaming manufacturing with processing knowledge. Specific experience in foaming a plus.
Quality problem solving tools and quality system experience such as ISO 9000-2000 are required
Familiarity with Six sigma tools a plus
Auditing experience and certification required.Knowledge/SkillsAbility to communicate effectively with all levels of employees throughout the organization in both verbally and in writing.
Ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal customers and suppliers.
Ability to multi task and prioritize activities.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, statistical software programs, operating systems, voice and email, etc.
Knowledgeable in quality systems and food industry regulations.
Ability to analyze data, critically think, problem solve and take action to resolve quality issues.
